About me.

I am an existential psychotherapist registered with UKCP (UK Council for Psychotherapy).

I discovered existential psychotherapy at a time of personal crisis in my own life some years ago through a kind friend’s suggestion. I found that it was concerned with the same questions that were becoming more pressing for me personally; and I quickly became encouraged by the honesty, simplicity and power of the existential process. At first, my formal training was about finding out more. This curiosity – along with a recognition that I can’t know everything, even about myself – remains an essential part of my practice.

I have trained at the New School of Psychotherapy (affiliated with Middlesex University) and Counselling and at Regent’s University.

I have worked in the NHS for two years within Guy’s & St Thomas’ Cancer Care services. Prior to that I worked in the charitable third sector with a broad range of psychotherapeutic clients, also in London.

In terms of registrations and associations, which are important: besides being a registered member psychotherapist with UKCP, to whose Code of Ethics I fully adhere. I am also a member of the UPCA (Universities Psychotherapy & Counselling Association) and SEA (Society for Existential Analysis).

My experience.

I have particular experience with: our relationships, with ourselves & others – anxiety – anger – trauma – cancer care – illness, death & dying, more broadly – loss & bereavement – suicidal ideation – self-exploration & identity – search for meaning & finding a personal sense of congruency – professional and career challenges.

My clinical work is regularly supervised by a UKCP registered practionner.

I also practise as a solicitor in London’s business district, registered with the SRA (Solicitors Regulation Authority) for over 17 years. This parallel career sits comfortably alongside and - when relevant - helps to inform my psychotherapy practice. With that experience, I bring a fresh understanding of fast-moving, modern professional life. Finding meaning and direction in my occupational life has been significant in my own journey and I work well with others in that space.
